Engaging young people in classical music is an ever-present challenge for orchestras, choirs and opera companies everywhere. In the Twin Cities, at least five major organizations have programs designed not only to endear young people to the art form, but also to artistic giving, networking and the rewards of living a life through the arts.

In today’s podcast, Matt Peiken hosts a roundtable discussion with Katrina Vander Kooi (VocalEssence Young Singers Group), Kristin Matejcek (Minnesota Opera’s Tempo), Tessa Retterath Jones (The Schubert Club’s Theoroi), Diane Anderson (Minnesota Orchestra’s Crescendo Project) and Sarah Phelan (The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s Club 2030).
