The Baroque Room in Lowertown St. Paul is launching a series of free lunch-hour concerts and lecture-recitals, beginning Feb. 16 and running occasional Saturdays through June.
Market Music 2013 is designed to coincide with the St. Paul Farmers’ Market, with concerts running an hour and lecture recitals, featuring the ensemble Flying Forms, 90 minutes—all starting at 11:30 a.m. All are free and open to the public.
Two highlights in the series are a “Who Taught Bach?” lecture Feb. 23 serving as a prelude to a Bach Society performance at 8 p.m. that night in the Baroque Room. On May 4, Jacques Ogg of The Lyra Baroque Orchestra and guest baroque violinist Luís Otávio Santos present a lecture recital on Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. That night, at 8 p.m. in Hamline University’s Sundin Hall, Santos performs The Four Seasons with The Lyra Baroque Orchestra.

These sound fascinating! I can’t attend during weekdays but will make a note so that I can try on some of the Saturdays.
